For the past 10 years, Cedar Community has honored and remembered the loved ones of friends and neighbors through our 2020 Butterfly Release and Celebration of Life.
This year may look a little different—but we WILL celebrate!
As home to nearly 900 seniors across five campuses, Cedar Community takes very seriously our role in fiercely guarding the health and safety of our resident family. Given these obligations, and continuing orders from our local health department, we have decided to move ahead with a re-imagined Butterfly Release and Celebration of Life for our residents, friends, and neighbors.
The resident portion event will bring the Butterfly Release to our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care campuses—allowing them to enjoy devotions, crafts, butterfly treats, and a live butterfly release. It is our hope to bring joy and celebration to members of our Cedar Community family who are still at high risk.
For friends and neighbors who do not live on our campuses, we will be sharing memorial devotions, craft and activity ideas, and photo op locations on our Facebook event page for the two weeks prior to our event. Then, on Saturday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m. we will be hosting our Virtual Butterfly Release on Facebook and asking you to participate. You will be invited to share your own photos and crafts, as well as memories of loved ones on our Virtual Memorial Wall. We hope that this community-wide celebration of life will bring us all together in spirit!

If you would like to make a gift in honor or memory of a loved one, you are invited to do so! All proceeds from this year’s virtual event will support our Partners In Caring program—supporting our friends and neighbors whose financial resources have run short and who can no longer cover the cost of their care alone.
